Conference
The New Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City
Each year, AMM hosts a three-day conference in the Midwest, typically in a larger city in one of the eight states in the region. The conference is usually
scheduled for September or October at a host hotel. The conference is AMM's largest and most important program and provides a forum for the exchange of
information, professional networking, and an examination of trends in the museum field. It's an excellent opportunity for museum professionals to relax,
reconnect, and recharge!
The annual conference features outstanding sessions, dynamic speakers, and exciting tours and receptions at museums in the host community.
Approximately 400 - 500 museum professionals attend the annual AMM Conference. In recent years, delegates from Canada, Australia, and Iraq have attended the
AMM conference.
When possible, AMM collaborates with the state museum association to host the annual conference. In 2008, AMM will collaborate with the Mountain
Plains Museum Association in Kansas City, Missouri. There are numerous benefits to collaborating with other museum associations, including the sharing of
conference expenses and expanded opportunities for learning and networking. If you would like to propose a partnership to host an annual conference with
AMM, contact Brian Bray at (314) 746-4557.
