The Association of Midwest Museum is pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Charity Counts as the new Executive Director. Ms. Counts comes to AMM from The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, where she has served in a variety of roles, most recently as Associate Vice President of Exhibits; her previous experience includes multiple roles at Minnetrista heritage site and gardens. With nearly fifteen years' experience in the museum field and a broad network of colleagues across the country, Ms. Counts is excited to work with museums and members throughout AMM's eight-state region.

"Charity really stood out among a number of talented candidates because of her experience, her passion for museums, and her clear vision that will allow the organization to better serve its members," says Melanie Adams, Ph.D., chair of the AMM board and search committee. "We are thrilled to welcome Charity to AMM, and to introduce her to our members in person at our annual conference in July."

Ms. Counts is eager to continue the work of the organization, promote best practices, and provide valuable resources to AMM's membership. "It is an honor to assume this role with the Association of Midwest Museums," says Ms. Counts. "I am excited to bring my experience in exhibit planning, collections, and museum operations to support our efforts to develop relevant programs and networking opportunities in the Midwest region."

In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Counts has received several awards that recognize her leadership in the field, including the Early Career Achievement Award from the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts and participation in the Emerging Leaders Program at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. She is an advisor to the Virginia Ball Center for Creative Inquiry at Ball State University and has served as Treasurer for the Traveling Exhibitions Network of the American Alliance of Museums. Both a leader and an artist, Ms. Counts received her B.F.A. in Drawing from Ball State University and her M.A. in Museum Studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
